In today’s fast-paced, modern, technologically structured world, blogging has firmly secured its place as one of the top advertising and marketing options, creative and artistic publishing options, recreational publishing, and more. Blogging has a place in so many different niches, not only simply business and marketing. From travel blogs to cooking blogs, there are so many different authors and subjects to access and learn from throughout the vast expanse of the internet today.
Many people are gravitating to the medium of blogging these days, and among these masses there are individuals who are craving that spark of true inspiration to begin their blogging career or hobby. For the benefit of all up-and-coming bloggers and anyone else interested in learning more, some truly inspirational quotes by some of the most established, world-class, and well-known bloggers will be offered here:
1 – Simon Dumenco
“Blogging is just writing — writing using a particularly efficient type of publishing technology.”
This phrasing from blogger Simon Dumenco is a perfect opening quote to consider from a famous blog writer. This quote may seem rather straightforward, but the inspiration is there in full when you consider that there is nothing intimidating at all about blogging! For those people who are just starting out with writing on their respective blogs, it is always so important to consider that at essentially all one must do to perform well when blogging is to write; write freely, write fluidly, write in your voice, and do not worry about anything else but the quality of the content being produced.
This quote expresses effectively that the true value in a successful blog is clearly its written content; not its flashy web design features, not fancy web infrastructure, but simply high quality, informative, engaging work. This saying from Dumenco also serves as a reminder to everyone seeking to begin blogging that they are on the cutting edge of publishing technology in our world today. This is something to be excited about and explore to the fullest extent possible!
2 – Michael Conniff
“Blogs are whatever we make them. Defining “blog” is a fool’s errand.”
When considering this inspirational tidbit by blogger Michael Conniff, there is a lot that can be learned from this short phrasing. This quote is intended to convey the freedom that blogging allows its author/creator. Unlike many other modes of communication such as print or radio, blogging offers writers the chance to be completely off on their own when publishing. They can write and produce and create in a relative vacuum if they want to. On the other side of this, however, is the reality that a blogger could also work with a team of people if they wanted to work in that format.
That is one of the most beautiful and unique things about blogging; how much freedom a writer truly has in this medium. Conniff is basically telling us here, quite wisely, that bloggers of all skill levels should constantly watch out for the potential pitfall of trying to pigeon hole or over-define what blogging means. Leaving it open to interpretation is important for blogging to stay free and open as a mode of communication.
3 – George Siemens
“Where the Internet is about availability of information, blogging is about making information creation available to anyone.”
This inspirational quote from prominent blogger George Siemens is great for all bloggers to consider because it really hits home the idea that this medium is intended to be an open information sharing platform for the people. Having a blog can give anyone the capacity to share engaging content with people all over the world no matter where they are (as long as there is internet access, of course). Unlike the journalism and publishing of the past which was exclusive in terms of who could write and be published, the age of blogging is one that gives everyone a voice for any story they deem appropriate.
Again, this is a mode of communication that can be of the utmost formal journalistic integrity breaking the stories of the day, or it can be a way to publish information and pictures about the culinary creations someone is making; there is so much freedom concerning what can be published. It is completely up to the author to decide what kind of information they wish to make available for everyone, and this is another one of the ways in which blogging is such an inspiring outlet to use!
