Take some time to consider your target audience. What age bracket do they fall into, and what level of education did they complete? What are they interested in, and what do they need? Identify your ideal readers, and try to create content that you think will attract them. You should also make your content more enticing by creating attention-grabbing titles and headlines. Additionally, it’s imperative that you use correct grammar and spelling. Even the simplest of typos can decrease the quality of your content and make what you have to say seem less credible.

Add a Call to Action

At the end of each of your posts, add a footer that acts as a call to action. By inserting a simple sentence that prompts readers to follow your blog, you might have a better chance of getting them to subscribe to your list. Once they’ve finished reading a piece of your content that they enjoyed or found informative, you’ll be catching them at the peak of their interest.

Additionally, it never hurts to place your subscription box in more than one spot. If it’s just on your homepage or about page, a lot of readers could miss it or forget that it exists.

Follow Other Blogs

When you follow other bloggers who create content on similar topics, you’ll build a network of online friends. If you find a site that you genuinely like, leave a comment on a post and offer a compliment. If you leave something genuine, there’s a large chance that the publisher of that post will send a comment back in thanks or at least click on your page to see who you are. Additionally, other commenters will see you and take the opportunity to follow the link back to your blog.

Something a lot of bloggers never even think of doing is offering an incentive for subscribing. Simple things such as offering free e-books, e-courses, webinars, or audio series can entice readers into forking over their email addresses.
