Blogger outreach assignment: Raise AWARENESS for Testicular Cancer by encouraging UK Men to ‘Check their Bauballs’
Please tell us about the product or company you would like the bloggers help with?
Orchid is the UK’s leading charity focused exclusively on male-specific cancers. Formed in 1996 by a testicular cancer patient, Orchid exists to save men’s lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research, the provision of specialist information and support, campaigns and raising awareness.
What is the blogging assignment?
UK male cancer charity Orchid’s ‘Check Your Bauballs’ campaign; designed to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer, while raising money for life-saving research.
The campaign has been endorsed by a host celebrities – including media medic Dr Hilary Jones, ex Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, Paul Weller, Jamie Oliver, Danny Dyer, Harry Hill, H from Steps, the boys from TOWIE & Hollyoaks – who have all posed with their bauballs.
Orchid male cancer nurse Rob Cornes says: “Every year, over 2,000 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer, and it’s the most common cancer in young men aged 15-35. 98% of cases are curable if caught early, so it’s vital that men know how to check themselves and recognise the symptoms. Check Your Bauballs is a great way to get men to take their health seriously this Christmas”.
Decorating your tree with bravado will help raise money and awareness of testicular cancer (as well as a few smiles along the way) this year.
You can grab a ‘Bauball’ (£5 each) from selected House of Fraser stores from November or online at http://www.checkyourbauballs.com from the end of November.
The assignment would be simply to post about the Christmas campaign with an image of the bauball. We can supply images of celebrities posing with them and more information about the campaign. Posting information about the ‘Check Your Bauballs’ campaign really helps raise the awareness for male testicular cancer and it would be greatly appreciated.
