About my blog:
Hello lovelies and welcome to my little part of the internet. My name is Danielle or Danni to those of you know me. I’m a wife, a mummy and a Freelance Photographer who started blogging as a way of letting my thoughts and feelings escape my already bursting-at-the-seams brain, but discovered that I love it. I write about parenthood, mental health, lifestyle-related things and anything else my heart desires so I hope you will stick around and read what I have to say.
My main blogging category is:
You can find me at:
How and why did you get into blogging:
I started writing when my son was born. He was extremely premature and very sick and so it was a method of therapy for me to write down how I was feeling. It developed from there and became more than therapy to me. It opened me up to a community of like-minded people, who have since become my friends.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I write about my life and what’s going in, but I also get inspired by those around me and the other people I follow on social media. Of course, there are days where I have nothing to say, and so I don’t. There’s no point forcing the writing because then it’s not authentic.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Just write whatever your heart desires. Letting it escape your mind will lessen any frustration you’re feeling and might help someone else with theirs. Blogging is a personal thing and so as long as you are helping yourself, you’re still helping someone.
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I’m still relatively new to this community and so there’s not a lot has changed since I got involved in it. I would say however, that writing doesn’t seem to be EVERYTHING now and instead, people are using Instagram Stories and Snapchat to run alongside what they’re writing. I enjoy both and I also enjoy the challenge of change. Being able to embrace change is the key to longevity in this industry I think… And life in general!
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I generally take my own photographs so that’s an easy one and to be honest I encourage most other bloggers to do the same. As far as a blogging routine, I’d say I’m a bit like clockwork. I will find something that interests me and write about it, then I’ll promote that piece on any/ all of my social platforms. If I’m particularly proud of that piece then I’ll get involved in some blog-sharing posts to increase exposure and that’s about it. If it’s worth reading, then people will read it. If not, then that’s that!
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
I’m always so grateful when brands choose to work with me. That’s always a massive highlight of writing a blog and there’s no one brand in particular that I’ve loved more than another. I feel extremely honoured to be a part of whatever campaign I’m lucky enough to be included in.
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I try not to think of the future too much with blogging. I’m extremely happy with where I am at the minute with it, as well as being excited about where I might be tomorrow. For me, it’s about enjoying the writing as well as the perks that sometimes come from that writing. Whatever happens will happen, and I’ll be grateful for whatever that will be.
