Bloggers name:
Jessica Colombera
My blog:
http://www.thequeenisintown.com
About my blog:
It’s a simple beauty blog where I post reviews, hauls, empties and more. I am however trying to get into a more natural lifestyle and am always on the hunt for good, ecological things. And cruelty-free of course!
My main blogging category is:
Beauty

How and why did you get into blogging:
I started my blog with a simple layout on a blogger page. I wanted to share some new nail polishes that I got and wanted to see whether other people like them too or not. Then I went over to (very simply) eye looks and challenges – like the “only use your fingers” challenge which was a huge mess. Why I started blogging is easy: I wanted to find like-minded people. People who enjoy makeup and different looks. I’m happy I found them!
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Personal experience. Especially if I do some self-tests or write reviews. Of course, I check if other people had a similar opinion on things but everything I write or say on my blog comes from me. I do however also browse the internet for new releases and then talk about them on my blog.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Never give up and do what you love. I know there are A LOT of blogs out there, especially beauty blogs but don’t be discouraged. Do you! If you’re good at photo editing, then do that: light up your images, at a good filter (nothing to totally distort the pic though) or make a new banner. Anything that speaks and shows your personality. Also, please don’t go into blogging thinking that you will become big in 2 months and have a bunch of sponsorships. If you’re good at what you’re doing, it will come to you and any given time.
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
Everyone wants to be better than the other. With excessive photoshop, spending and what not. You don’t need to make 3 hauls a week. Do with what you have. Slightly edit your pictures to make the colours stand out a bit more, yes, but don’t totally change your face.
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
Instagram, Twitter and my emails. I am subscribed to a bunch of YouTube channels too that give me inspiration.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
The fact that a company wanted to work with me and hosted a giveaway on my blog and youtube channel. It’s always nice to see that big brands have trust in you and want to help you out.
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I would love to travel a bit more and meet more people. So if anyone wants to host a blogging class somewhere in the world, sign me up! ;)
