How and why did you get into blogging:
I was 14 and I really enjoyed writing in school. I had heard of “Blogspot” so created a blog, I did 3 posts and left it. 2-3 years later I logged back in and decided to take it a little more seriously. Here I am at 22 and blogging (sometimes) consistently about what I love.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Does myself count? I’ve always wrote stories from a young age! I remember one “book” I wrote when I was 6-7 about a monkey called Christopher (my brother’s name!) and I really loved it! I havent had any big “writing” influences but a natural enjoyment to write about things.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Start off writing what you love just because you love it! The opportunities that can come with it are great but it’s a hot and cold situation. You aren’t always going to get them! So do it because you just love writing!
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
A big influence to get PR and write e-books (don’t get me wrong I’m working on one myself) and monetising. Of course it’s great if you can become a full time blogger but it does take away from honest light hearted content just a little bit.
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I love Twitter for promotion. I even run a blogging RT account (sunshineblogRT) and I’ve kept it very chill. I try to take my own photos for my blog posts but things like Unsplash can be good for anyone who may not feel like it!
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
I worked with Panasonic 2 years ago on a blog post! I was extremely grateful!
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I just hope I’m still blogging and enjoying life. I’d really love to work with more brands and maybe branch out to events without being anxious! In the past I’ve got to the location and get too anxious and back out!
