About my blog:
My blog started as a fashion only blog, but then so many different varieties of companies started approaching me so it then transitioned into a lifestyle blog! Including fashion still as the main focus, along with health, fitness, beauty and travel homeware etc.
I started it 3 years ago and had 2 previous attempts. It didn’t go as well and on my 3rd attempt, I got the response I wanted and it’s really taking off! It’s a dream come true.
My main blogging category is:
You can find me at:
Instagram – @phoebelourdes
The magazine I wrote for – @everythinggl
Facebook – phoebe Lourdes
YouTube – phoebe Lourdes
How and why did you get into blogging:
I have always loved fashion and many people always used to ask me where I would get my outfits from. So it started like that! It didn’t take off how I wanted, so the 3rd time around I started writing more, rather than just posting outfit posts!
That’s when people really tapped in and actually liked hearing what I was writing etc.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Definitely other bloggers! A lot of my drama school friends have blogs too, so we are all very involved in writing about our personal experiences etc.
I have always loved writing as a child. I was entered into many poem competitions too etc.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Never stop trying. Always keep going because the more you keep going the more you learn! And if it doesn’t work out the first time it may not the second or third but you will get there if it’s your dream to and it will work out if it’s meant to be and it normally is!
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
The focus, when I first started it was all about pictures and outfits posts and tagging where it’s from. Now it’s actually about the blogger’s life and personal experiences and advice and yes PR packaging but actually being real about it!
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
Pinterest! Instagram definitely!
I’m part of fashion blogging Facebook groups.
Magazines – I work for egl!
I use Canva for a lot of my designs and image creation and I promote things on Facebook and other platforms or collaborations with companies. I don’t really edit my photos by f any I use Lightroom! To enhance colours.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
I was invited to a front row show over London fashion week by the designer. I was given a massive goodie bag and being on the front row with unlimited Prosecco was amazing enough. I was then invited backstage to meet her and interview her along with more gifts and Prosecco and opportunities to meet people and take photos. I then had to rush off to another show I was invited to!
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I really hope to gain more followers and audience. I’ve also started YouTube for my singing so I hope that takes off too! I would ideally like to have a full time job in blogging and fashion! And I’ve had snippets of it, but I need to get that full time role confirmed as I love fashion and inspiring and helping others! It would be a dream!
