How and why did you get into blogging:
I originally wanted a place to store my own recipes, so I could share them with friends and family. After a little while, I started to pick up views and followers, which inspired me to create more and more, and my following and readership grew.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I write a lot about my own experiences, my own meals I have created and my content quest for healthy and tasty food. I have lost 6 stone since I started my blog, so I love to be able to help and inspire others.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
I think most bloggers go through a period of ‘speaking to an empty room’ when your blog gets started. It can be hard work to keep going, but as soon as you connect with 1 reader that leaves a nice comment, or has tried one of your recipes, it starts to be worthwhile and spurs you to continue. Just keep going and keep at it!
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I feel like so many more people now have started a blog. There seems to be this culture what people believe they can get ‘free stuff’ by having a blog. The truth is that it’s a lot of hard work, and there’s very little that is truly ‘free’, as it takes a lot of time and effort to review things and meals etc.
The market is very saturated, and I have seen lots of bloggers come and go.
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I use blogger as my platform and share on Twitter and Facebook mainly. Facebook is actually my largest following, so my main focus on social media is there.
I create all my collages in canva, it’s amazing.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
This may not sound like much of an achievement to most people, but it was for me. I got a really lovely message from a reader saying they had followed me for 3 years and had lost so much weight thanks to my recipes, and how grateful they were. That message made everything worth it!
I was a shortlisted finalist in the UK blog awards for 3 years in a row, and have hit over 3.5 million views!
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I hope to continue blogging as my career, and hope to bring out my own healthy cook book!
