About my blog:
I joke that my blog is how I cope with life in a true Gen Y manner. I write about things and topics that I care about.
I often write about politics, veganism, minimalism, PR, mental wellbeing, global warming, zero-waste living and other things/social issues.
My main blogging category is:
How and why did you get into blogging:
I work in PR and I also write freelance so it was natural for me to start a blog.
I always have too much to say and not enough friends to listen to me, so now I write for my readers.
I’ve always blogged, I can’t even remember how many blogs I’ve had in the past. My current blog is m baby, it looks like I’m sticking with it long term, haahahah.
I love the community that the blogging world is, working in PR I became quite intrigued by it so I decided that I wanted to be part of it. REALLY part of it!
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I like to stay current so I read a lot of news, I listen to podcasts and I read the work of other like-minded bloggers. I guess that’s what inspires me the most.
I try new products out and learn of new brands, that also inspires me. I like seeing companies evolve and make ethical or moral commitments. That in return makes me want to do better and that is the sort of stuff I bring to my blog then.
I’m also a girly-girl so sometimes something simple like doing my makeup makes me excited and inspired. I like being creative!
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Stick with it! I sometimes hit a wall, but then an odd inspiration hits and I’m back at it. I think the most important thing is to not give up!
Also network. ;)
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I’ve seen blogging industry grow and change before I actually started taking blogging seriously. I see that loyalty and integrity has become very important. As a PR I’ve worked with bloggers and I appreciate bloggers that are professional and value their reader above their paycheck. :)
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
Canva is a lifesaver for graphs, hahaha.
I use free to use websites for images. This is very important!
I scout twitter loads and that’s also how I promote most of my content and network.
ResponseSource is amazing for getting information for stuff that I am working on, puts me in contact with the right people!
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
I’m a relatively new blogger. I care about my content, I make sure my blogs are the best they can be, I spend a lot of time writing and I put a lot of thought into what I do.
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I’d like my blog to grow into a news platform. As I said I work as a freelance journalist. I’d love to have the ability to publish other work of talented and amazing young journalists.
