Blogger Q and A with lifestyle blogger shaiennaquinnBloggers name:
Shaienna Quinn

My blog:

About my blog:
“Life of Shai” is a lifestyle blog about my journey through self-discovery; who I am and who I aspire to be. It’s my creative space to be 100% genuine with my readers as I discuss the ups and downs that is my life; as well as the many experiences I’ve had and the ones that have yet to come.

My main blogging category is:

You can find me at:

How and why did you get into blogging:
I started blogging in high school; inspired by the MTV series “Awkward”. At the time, I wanted to share my daily high school experiences with other teenagers who felt they were going through their obstacles alone.

As time progressed and life became hectic, I took a hiatus and officially relaunched in November of this year. Since relaunching, I now blog about discovering myself and the person I’m becoming. I’ve experienced so much more as an adult and I’m ready to lay it all out on the table without any worries of judgment.

Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from daily life experiences. I either write about the many good things happening in my life or I share lessons I’ve learned from going through some bad times. No matter what, there is always positivity spread among my posts.

If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers. Everyone has their own individual blogging journey and if you are genuine about the content you create, everything else will fall in place as time goes on.

Also, don’t fret about your statistics. I know having a big following is some bloggers’ main priority but, it’s better to have a small following of people who actually read what you post. O

Lastly, have fun with it. Your blog should be for you and you only. It should be something that you enjoy doing. When you love what you produce, you will love the process of producing it.

What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I’ve noticed a shift in genuineness. Maybe it’s just me but, I think people are now starting blogs based on what they think will make them popular in the blogging community. Skip the trends and write about what you truly want to.

What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I’ve started using OneNote for drafting and I love it. It helps me keep everything organized and it’s much easier to edit with.

Twitter and Instagram are my biggest go-to’s when it comes to promoting. I find that I reach more people with hashtags and retweets from blogging support accounts.

Along with my relaunch, I decided to start using all of my own photos to make my blog more personal. So I either take them myself on my phone or I do mini photo shoots with my roommate/friend from college, Dai’Jah.

Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
My biggest achievement so far has been my relaunch. It was so important for me to create a site that aligned with my vision and my vibe. I couldn’t find that for the longest time which is why I took such a long hiatus. Once I got my design down, I was able to save money to pay for a domain which was the greatest feeling ever.

Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I don’t have any specific goals for the future when it comes to blogging. Right now, I’m just taking it day by day, post by post, and letting it take its course. If it turns into a huge success, I’ll be very proud. However, it stays small time, I will still be as content as I am now.
