About my blog:
What Lexie Loves is a lifestyle and review blog informing readers about everything and anything going on in the World Of Kids And Teens, from my favourite book at the moment, to the latest beauty trend.
My main blogging category is:
How and why did you get into blogging:
I heard about it on a TV show when I was 9 – I loved chatting, and I loved technology, so blogging seemed perfect.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Honestly, just whatever I’m up to lately. If I’ve recently watched a film, I chat about it on my blog – my posts aren’t super structured, more just me having a chit-chat. I also get inspo from other bloggers and content creators.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Do not worry about the numbers!!! It took me months of blogging until I first got a comment from somebody who wasn’t my best friend or family friend, but trust me it’s so worth it. As long as you’re checking out other people’s blogs and supporting them, comments and love on your posts will come eventually.
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
The people!! As I started when I was 9 (I’m now 14), many of the bloggers I was friends with were also young and now have given up. I’ve lost so many good friends due to the blogging community constantly changing, but I’ve always made some lovely new friends!! Also, I’d say it’s becoming much more of a popular and serious job choice for people, rather than it really just being a hobby for most. 5 years ago I really didn’t know about blogging full-time and how people did that, but now it’s a much more common career choice.
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
Twitter is my best friend for research – I could spend hours scrolling through the blogger hashtags. For inspiration and image creating, Instagram is the love of my life; I get so much photo inspiration and motivation from there on the daily. And for sharing posts it also has to be Twitter. I take part in a lot of comment swaps and blog share threads, so I’ve found many amazing blogs through it.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
It has to be either getting to write a monthly article for www.tots100.co.uk for a year or getting to take my family to Watergate Bay Hotel on a review stay. The fact that 11 year old me was providing a weekend break was (and still is) insane, and I was so proud.
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I hope blogging will take me all sorts of places!! I’d love to travel more with my blog, and meet more people in real life!! I’d love to go to some sort of blogger event or red carpet event; that would be so cool.
