About my blog:
A blog on the life experiences of a writer, talking about a mix of categories from writing work, works in progress, inspirations and life in general. A casual chat from someone not so much on my high horse but sitting comfortably on the couch speaking about life’s events from a creative viewpoint.
My main blogging category is:
You can find me at:
My twitter handle is @louboop where you can find the linked posts from my blog and I can be found on Facebook and on my websites sansom.weebly.com and rubberfacesandanimalimages.yolasite.com
How and why did you get into blogging:
Blogging is an online diary and journal and that’s where I started, a vehicle to note events in my life then it evolved into something more.
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I started as a poet and was very much inspired by Sylvia Plath, with the emotion behind her work it inspired me to turn my writing into therapy, dealing with many an event in my life through written words. Along the way, I continued to learn more about the craft and found myself writing about many subjects, everything from football to fashion and TV.
Soon I became a creative writer, a creative somewhat in general too.
I still hold onto my poetic routes and still hold Sylvia Plath and also the war poets close to my heart as showing me how words can be compassionate. loving, threatening and horrifyingly honest.
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Learn the trade before you start, I learnt along the way andIi wouldn’t advise it. however, as I always wanted to be honest at least my mistakes were true for everyone to see. Still, I would make sure you make the start professional.
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
Advertising and sponsorship seem to be very much part of the business end of blogging, sometimes distracting from the nature of the theme of the blog but mainly an extension of the topic, why wouldn’t you recommend a moisturizing cream when talking about morning beauty routine.
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I tend to focus on the words but my posts are inspired by life events, news snippets, culture and other blasts of inspiration from social media too.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
The excitement when you finally start to have people re-posting or liking your posts. It’s not the publicity that strikes me its the fact that it ran true with somebody else and I am perfectly alright with that.
Publicity is great but every writer writes with a cause or a story to tell, to then be received by the reader – that’s essentially the relationship/bond between the two.
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I would like to perhaps relaunch in the new year, adding to the blog other posts from like minded writers who still have an emotional relationship with their writing and I also hope to further the therapy end of the writing process by maybe studying a relevant course in the new year.
