About my blog:
My blog focuses on being a 20ish mum. my 3-year-old boy Frankie & my pregnancy with baby number 2. I also blog our days out, holidays & child-friendly places to visit and eat.
My main blogging category is:
How and why did you get into blogging:
I have always loved writing since a young age & when I became a Mum myself in November 2015 I loved reading other mum blogs online but felt out of my depth to start my own. In April 2018 I finally decided my time was now & thus started my own blog and it has grown and grown and I absolutely adore it!
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Mostly books, I am an avid reader which is where I think my writing styles come from, including Sophie Kinsella, Giovanna Fletcher.
My favourite Mum blogs are part-time working mummy, theunmumsyMum and luxefamily5 plus so many more!
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Don’t stress about the hashtags & the number of likes on a post, my initial postings were only received by less than 10 readers at any given point, build up a plethora of posts and more people come to visit! I LOVE getting messages asking ‘what was that place you recommended? and directing them straight to my blog. Social Media is helpful but don’t lose your momentum!
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
The amount of ‘influencers’ and ‘Instagrammers’, the majority of my flow I think, comes through clever hashtagging and self-promotion on Instagram which is lovely, I have met so many lovely bloggers but the small minority of unfollowing to gain followers really kicks you down if you let it!
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I use textmania for layout images & I host my blog on WordPress. I share on all social media including Facebook, Instagram & Twitter.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
Hitting 10,000 readers on my blogsite! I went from barely 5,000 to 10,000 in just three days through sharing of a blog I did promote a café in a local park and a soft play found by chance which led them to a lot more business & I had a lovely message from the owner who thanked me for restoring faith back into her business!
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
To be the no.1 Mum blogger in Essex! No (although that would be lovely!)
I would love more opportunity to review more products & create a platform for Mums to encourage each other through my blogs, which is my five year plan!
