About my blog:
“Its the journey that matters” is a travel blog where I write about my travel experiences, Interesting itineraries, share helpful tips and tricks for the journey of your destination.
My main blogging category is:
How and why did you get into blogging:
The initial struggle I faced when planning a trip made me start this blog to make sure no others should have such challenges. Hence I make it a point to highlight all details including the public transport facilities, local custom, cost of the trip etc in my posts. Never thought my passion for Travel will turn me into a writer too!
Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
Good question. My motivation mainly comes from the surrounding, and also during my travels. I usually carry my pen & diary (ya, still an old school kid!) Several times, I have framed my posts while waiting for my flights, trains and even in evening walks along the parks. I never write to have the best post. I write because I want to be happy, and my post should bring a smile on readers face!
If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Once upon a time, blogging use to be easy. Yes, that was when few people had their contributions. But today, there are millions of them. So, initially, it would be difficult to get traction. But remember, you are not a blogger here for proving something. You are blogging because you are one. Never ever stop. Keep capturing your thoughts as they flow and not as you want others to appreciate. Make sure you join some blogging community and keep growing. Good luck.
What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
When I started, it was all about writing what you think on portal and hitting the publish button. Then share them through friends circle. But today, there are plenty of tools to do a keyword search, SEO etc. Of course, all are like old wine in a new bottle. Different names, but the bottom line is to make sure your blog is visible to the world!
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other:
I have my site hosted using Tophost provider on the defacto CMS platform, WordPress. If not daily, frequently I use Google Analytics to understand the performance of my blog. Social media like Twitter & Facebook are my main channel for the promotion. Pexels & Pixabay are two of my most used sites for pictures.
Tell us about your greatest blogging achievement to date?
Wait a minute. Have I achieved something great yet? I doubt. My travel blog is relatively new, but I have a good community and followers on my lifestyle blog in http://author.mjothi.com. Personally, I am not in any race or contest to achieve anything here. I blog because I love it. If it becomes viral, its a bonus! Simple happiness!
Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
Well, here I am very optimistic. It will definitely bring me more friends, and opportunity for me to help more people out there. If my blog can bring a small change in someone’s life today that make them happy, what more I should ask!
