Please tell us a bit about your blog?
A Not So Secret Life is a personal blog by Nana Granada it chronicles her love for fashion and writing, beauty discoveries, product reviews, inspiration, aspirations and travels.
Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?
It started way back in 2011 when I first discovered Chictopia. I joined and it inspired me to create my own blog. At the same time I wanted to have a special place where i could pour my love for writing and fashion into one and hoping to also inspire people around the Globe.
Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I take inspiration from almost anything, from life itself, from my own personal experience, from the internet, books I read and from people I get to talk with. You can get inspiration from everywhere all you have to do is to focus, clear your mind and allow things to flow inside you.
Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Don’t be too hard on yourself everything takes time; you need to have patience and most especially you need to have the passion to do it. You just don’t blog simply because it’s a trend or everybody’s doing it. You need to have a certain mission why you’re doing it. You got to love what you’re doing so before you start blogging try to ask yourself first what is it that you want to blog about? Next don’t be afraid to reach out to other bloggers, join forums, do guest blogs visit blogs and leave comments. And last be you never pretend just to gain readers a pretentious post is meaningless, If you write something that you don’t like it’s pointless blogs are like your personal diary it should be real.
Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I think there is a rapid increase of bloggers the past years now there are more male bloggers compared when I first started blogging way back in 2011which is great because guys use to think blogging is a female dominated industry and I can see that bloggers are trying very best to capture the best photos. You can see some bloggers looking like they just came out from a magazine. 3rd I’ve notice that bloggers/blogs are the main choice of collaboration of online stores, through the years more and more online shops are offering bloggers programs.
Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?
I ‘m a big fan of Twitter, facebook and Google+ these social networks are powerful. It; s perfect for promotions and stuffs.
Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.
I think blog analytics become significant when you’re looking for sponsors because they would usually ask about the traffic your blog is generating which is really vital to them since they will be paying you to take in customers to their sites. Nevertheless, blog analytics help you see how your blog is doing.
Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I hope that I’ll be able to reach and inspire more people through my blog. I can say that in 2 yrs. Of blogging I have come a long way and achieved a lot. I have gained a lot of friends, sponsors, and I am very happy to be a part of an online community that fights against social injustices.
