We have asked our blogger community to answer a few blogging questions about themselves, with the aim of getting to know them and their blogs a little better. These will be published as a series of blog posts, which we hope will make interesting reading. Carry on reading if you’d like to find out more about the bloggers who are active on Bloggers Required. Please tell us a bit about your blog?
My blog is based on all things beauty, fashion and advice/life related! I’m a bit of newbie but I am really getting into the whole writing malarkey. I love the idea of having people read and take advice from the things I love doing most! I have very much been into fashion and beauty since a young age, and from studying psychology, I have enjoyed the counselling aspect of my learning pathway, and decided that I also love giving life advice to people, whether it is friend/relationship problems or fashion problems. I am still trying to build a fan base but have proven to have many views in the past few months in-particular. I would love to carry on with this and expand my knowledge about new topics I could learn and share with my viewers!
Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?
I have always loved writing online. Having a successful tumblr account and writing in diaries have kind of blended together to form my love of online blogging! I love everything about it.. Choosing a catchy title, taking and editing pictures for my blog, writing the content and changing the layout and visual aspects of my blog. I can’t wait to learn new things about how to make my blog more appealing!
Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I get inspiration from anyone, anywhere, anytime.. There isn’t any specific person who inspires me. I’m inspired by a random person will a lovely personality, I’m inspired by the woman who just walked past with a beautiful outfit. All these little contributing factors help me love writing and blogging. I believe that everyone has a potential to write, as long as the time and effort is put in to making it interesting. Read books, read other people’s blogs, read magazines! It’s so easy to find inspiration these days.
Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
You have to believe in yourself in order to write something successful, and you have to be very passionate about what you are writing about. There is no point writing about something you have only recently discovered and have a temporary love for. That will not make a successful blog. You need to be very clear, descriptive and precise. For example, when reviewing clothing materials or make-up brands, learn about the terms! There is always ways to further your knowledge, and remember to believe in yourself before you start! Believe you can do it, even though it will be a slow process, you can do it!
Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
When I didn’t have much knowledge about the blogging world, when I clicked on a random blog every one would be so individual and I would stay there for hours, learning of different people’s preferences and hobbies etc, but lately, I have been noticing very cliche blogs and discussions, for instance beauty blogs will use the make-up brands other bloggers are talking about, and then will post a very similar post on their blogs.. It is a vicious circle. There is nothing better than individuality. I love adding my little touches, like pictures and phrases I use just to make my blog that little more personal.
Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?
This is the part of blogging I am yet to learn. I use other blogs as inspiration and idea’s on what to publish next, or use magazines and online websites to gain knowledge on the latest trends in order to keep my blog updated. I haven’t dived into the promotion aspects of blogging. I currently love writing posts for my viewers and building it up, so eventually I can promote my blog to the relevant people/companies.
Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.
I’m struggling to understand the word analytic and the whole understanding of blog analytic. I live the simple life guys! (I am an A* student though, I promise!)
Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I am currently loving writing about what I love, sharing information with my viewers and being able to do something I love without many disadvantages and I hope this doesn’t change in the future. I would love to carry on writing and blogging as long as people enjoy reading what I like doing. I am currently considering opening my own YouTube account, and following in the footsteps of many bloggers who have extended their life on to YouTube!
