Please share this assignment with other bloggers.

We have asked our blogger community to answer a few blogging questions about themselves, with the aim of getting to know them and their blogs a little better. These will be published as a series of blog posts, which we hope will make interesting reading. Carry on reading if you’d like to find out more about the bloggers who are active on Bloggers Required. Please tell us a bit about your blog?

Love Beauty and Spa features product reviews and other beauty related posts from the perspective of a British beauty therapist

Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?

I have always loved writing, so decided to combine it with my bother passion: beauty. I decided to start a blog as it was somewhere I could write as much or as little as I liked about my favourite products. I write my blog for me, because I enjoy writing and creating each post. Being able to share my love for certain products is a bonus.

Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?

I am inspired by products I discover in shops or online, by newspaper and magazine articles and by other blogs. I am constantly learning and researching about the beauty industry – I live and breathe it!

Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?

Always blog because you enjoy it and write however you want to write and about whatever interests you – don’t copy others to ‘fit in’. If you write about what interests you personally then blogging shall always be fun and new content will fall into your lap. Don’t become obsessed with pageviews or followers – these will come organically in time. The blogging community is amazingly supportive, so take part in twitter ‘blogger chats’ to socialise and gain motivation!

Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?

There are so many blogs out there now that it may feel hard to find ‘a gap in the market’ and to be unique.

Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?

I write my blog using Blogger, and use it multiple times a day to write and edit posts, update my layout and to check the statistics. I regularly use twitter to promote my blog and share new posts, and I tend to use Instagram for inspiration. I research products online or by talking to PR companies before any review and always test products multiple times before reviewing. I make a note of any blog post ideas in my Filofax (in fact anything blog related) as my memory is terrible!

Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.

Barely. I simply use the statistics provided by Blogger to gain an insight on the audience of my blog. I enjoy receiving comments as feedback or through twitter.

Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?

I simply hope that in years to come blogging brings me as much joy as it currently does. I hope it allows me to continue to meet amazing new people and attend the odd event (e.g. Product launches). I have been asked to consider starting a YouTube channel – I am currently not brave enough, but would love to in the foreseeable future.
