Please tell us a bit about your blog?
Travelling and skincare are two things I love and so blogging about them was very natural.
Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?
I started blogging to document my travels for the benefit of family and friends. And then it slowly grew into my other passion – blogging about health and beauty. Now I blog about a lot of varied topics.
Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
My writing inspiration is mostly my own personal life, my family and my friends.
Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
Have patience and do not give up if you are really passionate about blogging. Keep learning and keep abreast with new tools and platforms.
Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I started blogging in 2009 when it was more like maintaining a personal online journal. Now it is more interactive, there is a large like-minded blogging community and yes there is more competition as well.
Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?
On a regular basis I use – Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Google Analytics.
Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.
Yes. Analytics are a great way to understand more about your blog readers. I use analytics to check number of visits, visitor demographics and most popular posts and also websites that are linking back to me. Some good practices are to label/name your images correctly, make proper use of headings and meta tags.
Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
I see blogging as a wonderful platform to meet and interact with like minded people and to work with some really good companies. And I feel that the future of blogging is all set to get more exciting.
