We have asked our blogger community to answer a few blogging questions about themselves, with the aim of getting to know them and their blogs a little better. These will be published as a series of blog posts, which we hope will make interesting reading. Carry on reading if you’d like to find out more about the bloggers who are active on Bloggers Required. You can view other blogger Q&As here, and you can complete your own here.
Please tell us a bit about your blog?
I’m a huge lover of anything beauty and fashion related. I love shopping and putting new outfits together. I made my blog so I could share my opinions and thoughts on different styles and products with others.
Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?
When I discovered beauty blogs, I fell in love with them. For a long time, I used to indulge in reading other blogs, learning different tips and tricks from different bloggers. Then one day I though ”Why don’t I start my own” and as you can see that’s what I did. I chose to write about things I enjoy or like and just things in general.
Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
I got my writing inspiration from different bloggers and beauty gurus on Youtube. I am a very big fashion and beauty lover so I read their blogs for a very long time. I love Zoella’s blog because her posts are brilliant and so interesting. She doesn’t post very often but she’s so good, you wait for the new post, no matter how long it takes. I also love Tanya Burr’s blog because she is such a genuine and lovely person. I also watch her videos on Youtube. She is a makeup artist and gives amazing tips so if you love makeup like myself, you need to check her channel out.
Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?
I am also new to the blogging community but I would say to be patient. It goes get a little upsetting when you realise you’re writing posts just for yourself to read but it’s always like that at the start. I would also say to get involved on different social media sites. People are not going to find your blog out of nowhere. Another thing you can do is leave comments on blogs you like. Don’t ask for follows or anything similar. Leave a genuine comment but leave the link to your blog at the bottom of the comment so they can also have a look at your blog.
Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?
I started not so long ago so I don’t think I have an answer for this question :)
Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?
I use Twitter, Tumblr daily. For research I read different magazines and get inspiration for new posts from them. A good thing on twitter is the hashtag #fbloggers or #bbloggers which stand for fashion bloggers and beauty bloggers. If you use one of these hashtags, the tweet will be sent to fashion bloggers or beauty bloggers. It’s great for tips and sharing your posts as well.
Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.
I do understand them. I think they are very important because they show you which posts your readers like the most which gives you clues which posts to do more and which promotion of your blog works best.
Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?
For now I’m blogging as a hobby to get me away from studying and just the basic everyday things. Blogging is something different and a very interesting thing to do and own. I hope blogging will give me some opportunities in the future of meeting new people with the same interests and maybe even getting a job fashion or beauty related.
