Please tell us a bit about your blog?

My blog is a parenting and lifestyle blog – I write about the things my children get up to, and the things we love. There are product reviews, competitions, craft and bakling ideas and a lot of the great outdoor fun we have.

Q1. How and why did you get into blogging?

I started blogging as a way to record all the special memories with my family, for us to look back on in the future. It has since developed to also include product reviews and guest posts from other blogs and companies I love.

Q2. Where do you get your writing inspiration from?

Other bloggers. There are a few out there that I take inspiration from – their beautiful way with words, and their posts that make me laugh and cry.

Q3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated blogger, what would they be?

Stick to your guns. Blog the way YOU want to blog, and not the way other people say you SHOULD be doing it. There are no rights or wrongs with blogging – it is about freedom of speech, and expression of your opinions. Above all – enjoy it! That is what it is all about really.

Q4. What has changed most about blogging culture/the blogging industry since you started?

There has been an influx of ‘blaggers’ – people starting blogs purely to get freebies from companies. Blog because you love it and have something to say – not to get reviews. They are just an added bonus, not what blogging is about deep down.

Q5. What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?

I use a lot of social media – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram mainly.

Q6. Do you understand your blog analytics, and how important do you think they are? Please share some best practice.

I use Google Analytics as a fairly basic way to quickly gather my stats. Although they do have some bearing, I think more emphasis should be put on the appearance, the content and the ambition of the blog in question.

Q7. Where do you hope blogging will take you in the future?

It will take me where it takes me. I have no set plans, no goals or targets. I blog because I enjoy it – and where that will take me nobody knows!
