Lucky Sixpence Bridal
Lucky Sixpence Bridal was cooked up by Anna in late 2015 following her own awesome wedding to Adam. She’s a naturally annoying organised type with quite set ideas about what she wants and found the wedding industry to be a pretty painful place. From being ripped off from mentioning the W-word, to a real lack of creativity and non-existent customer service she felt there was space for something to ‘disrupt’ this archaic way of doing things.
Our mission is to source freaking amazing fashion-lead pieces which happen to be vintage and match them to brides who are perhaps working to a budget, want to reassign that budget away from their outfit towards the honeymoon road trip or Charlotte Olympia kitty flats or have twigged that they’ll only be rocking their wedding outfit for, like, 5 hours and it’s criminal to spend a couple of grand on it…
With this in mind, our first collection of dresses will be priced from £250 to £375. Within the Sixpence Crew we have some fantastic seamstresses who can upcycle (sometimes 80s ruffles can be too ruffley), tweak and generally make you look great.
Kassandra Lauren Gordon Jewellery
Kassandra Lauren Gordon jewellery satiates the desire of professional women for handmade precious pieces with character that can be worn seamlessly in professional and casual contexts.
All pieces are made from precious metals and gemstones by hand from Gordon’s London studio.
Combining her work as a poet with her love of crafting sentimental objects Gordon has been inspired by outer space as a metaphor for internal life. The playful minimalism of the work allows women to bring character to otherwise bland work clothes.
Many of the pieces are named after inspirational female scientists. Hypatia is the first known female mathematician. ‘Nobell Burnell’ is named after cosmologist Jocelyn Bell Burnell who discovered pulsars in 1967 as a graduate student but was passed over for the Nobel Prize in favour of her supervisor.
