The Moretti Gran Tour is back by popular demand this summer and is set to be better than ever before with the introduction of an immersive sensory experience like no other which transports people to different Italian regions, from the Tuscan hills to the Sicilian sea front, alongside four Italian street food vendors at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, London in July.
The sensory experience offers visitors a guided tour of famous sights, scents, tastes and sounds from across Italy which will be brought to life by creatives Robin Collective through an experience that explores how taste is unique to an individual and how a wide range of multi-sensory stimuli can alter and heighten the flavours we experience.
For the first time ever, Londoners who visit the one-off exclusive experience only available at this year’s Moretti Gran Tour will be transported on a multi-sensory tour of Italy. Beginning with scented orange groves and the salty sea breeze of the Sicilian seafront, to the rolling hills of Tuscany, then through bustling sounds of an Emilia Romagna market and ending in a traditional Trattoria in Udine, the city where Birra Moretti was born back in 1859.
To accompany the array of aromas found in each room, our guests journey around Italy will continue as their taste buds will be indulged with foods native to each region, from molecular caviar to market spices, all perfectly paired with the Birra Moretti range.
After foodies embrace the 45-minute food sensory experience and while beer enthusiasts are delighting in Birra Moretti alla Siciliana, Birra Moretti alla Toscana and Birra Moretti La Rossa from the Birra Moretti stable, guests can tuck into four of London’s best Italian street food vendors each serving a range of authentic signature dishes inspired by different regions of Italy.
Returning Moretti Gran Tour favourites Arancini Brothers will be offering its citrus, mushroom zucchini and spicy sweet potato with smokey cheese arancini balls – all served with homemade aubergine and tomato dipping sauce and garlic aioli. The Chalk Farm-based outlet will also be dishing up sweet arancini balls – a Moretti Gran Tour exclusive – made up of a sweet bourbon vanilla bean arancini filled with either rich chocolate sauce, salted caramel sauce or lemon panacotta.
Everybody’s favourite, Pizza Pilgrims, whose journey began following a tour around Italy in a traditional Italian Ape van, is back by popular demand. They will be serving their classic Margherita made with tomato, fior di latte, parmesan and olive oil on live days. On Open House days they’ll be serving an exclusive carbonara pizza topped with roast pancetta, mozzarella, egg yolk, pecorino and black pepper.
Tuck into a burger from Cheeky Italian, which has given a traditional meal an Italian twist, alongside an exclusive serving of a new dish ‘Meatball Parm Hero’ which is filled with fried chicken, pork and beef meatballs, oozy mozzarella, marinara sauce all in a toasted white bap.
New kids on the block The Cheese Wheel and The Cheeky Italian, catering for those who have an appetite for Italian twists on traditional street food dishes, are set to “wow” at their first Moretti Gran Tour.
