The Children’s Society is a national charity that runs local services, helping children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable, and have nowhere left to turn. We also campaign for changes to laws affecting children and young people, to stop the mistakes of the past being repeated in the future. Our supporters around the country fund our services and join our campaigns to show children and young people they are on their side.
What is the blogging assignment?
The Children’s Society has found girls are facing huge pressures today, especially about their appearance. That’s why, with this assignment, we’re looking for bloggers to tackle some of these issues with their blog, vlogs or even in a social media post.
Our annual Good Childhood Report found that girls’ happiness in Britain is getting worse, while boys’ happiness is remaining the same. We’re really worried about the situation for girls and we’re calling on the Government to make sure emotional and mental health support is available in all schools.
We want to find bloggers who are all too aware of the pressures on girls and would like to help. You can make a big difference by talking with your followers, some girls or women, about your thoughts on our findings.
Perhaps you’ve experienced pressures to look a certain way? Maybe there are some things about social media that concern you? How you choose to explore this topic is up to you.
We ask all bloggers supporting to meet the following requests:
Publish a blog, vlog or micro-blog giving your opinions on the findings
