Have you got yours yet? They’ve been appearing more frequently in the coolest insta-feeds, the latest restaurants and aspirational magazines…and I for one have been ‘screenshot-ing’ the hell out of them. I am talking about circular mirrors people and they’re definitely a thing. A new season ‘trend’ if you will *shudders* (hate that phrase).
Commercial interiors – often early adopters of cool kit – Restaurant Ours, London
Graham & Green – circular mirrors grouped for impact
Borderless or framed, a singular mahoosive one or hung in multiples, the circular mirror is big news and an easy way of updating any room in your home. They look super effective in a bathroom – even a small one – over a sink and against some wild and colourful wallpaper but equally are perfect in a classic and traditional setting.
In a lounge or living room you can go nuts with the size …somehow the curved, circular edge negates any rules on scale. In my book, the bigger the better especially as the reflection can act like a piece of wall art depending whats on the opposite wall. This beauty, in the home of top insta-creative Cowboy Kate is painted in the same colour as the wall blurs the lines between function and styling.
How awesome does this one look in a hallway? Umm, very! Bouncing light back into the space is another of their bonus features.
The circular mirror trend is going to be around increasingly this SS17, so here is my hotlist of the best ones around whether you want to save, spend, or splash out.
