Being a mum means you tend to neglect yourself, you get up in the morning whack on some clothes do they match? probably not, throw your hair up into the cliché mum bun and be on your way. I cannot remember the last time I took a moment to make myself feel/look good and that really is quite sad. Something so easy as painting your nails seem’s so tricky to do because you’re either too busy running around slaving after your child or your little one see’s you grab that bottle of varnish and suddenly becomes your nail technician and demands that you hand it over straight away. Of course there is the opportunity to do it after your little one has headed to bed but if you’re anything like me you find yourself either binging on the TV or inevitably falling asleep yourself!

You can imagine that when Kerry from Jamberry contacted me to see if I would like to try out their Nail wraps I was jumping at the opportunity! From a very young age I have always loved beauty products, although the younger me had a very bad taste I was the user of blue mascara, hair mascara and mousse foundation – the foundation that left you looking like an escaped Oompa-Loompa. I’d love to tell you that I have improved but I am so out of touch now that I have probably got worse!

Kerry let me loose on their website and allowed me to pick a wrap that I loved, after a good browse and getting distracted by the nail wraps that they do for the little loves in our lives – they do unicorn ones! Eek! After a few times changing my mind I eventually went for Cosmic which is a glittery rainbow effect, now if you know me you’ll know that if anything is glittery I am purchasing it whether I need it or not! I emailed Kerry back with my final choice and she alerted me that she would order them in the next couple of days and that they should be with me by the end of the following week and she wasn’t wrong! Sure enough, Tuesday came and the postman delivered me my nail wraps in cute little packaging.

I sat down with little one and opened up my goodies, it was hard to tell who was more excited but I was certain that the package was like Mary Poppins bag, the contents just kept on coming!

I received a booklet with all of Jamberry’s products pictured inside which of course we just had to have a nosy through again, my chosen Jamberry nail wraps and a little bag full of all the needed equipment and some much-needed tester wraps to practice with!

The contents of the little bag was

  • alcohol wipes –  to remove the oils from your hands.
  • wooden orange stick
  • nail file
  • cuticle stick
  • hand cream
  • practice wraps

Preparation is pretty simple, simply file your nails and push back your cuticle an wipe your nails with the alcohol wipe. Once I had done that it was time to do my nails! Choosing the right size nails was the difficult part I either went too big or too small but that was just me being awkward once I had got the hang of it, it was pretty straight forward and I was flying through it!

In just under an hour my hands were complete! The way they turned out left me feeling instantly better about myself and I can go about my day-to-day life as a busy mum and they’re still in tact, even after washing up so they are extremely durable which is a god send to all busy people.

What really makes Jamberry stand out from the crowd is the fact that they don’t have all the nasties that you regularly find in other nail products and they are not tested on animals either! You’ll also find that they are vegan, should you wish to nibble!

Overall I would rate this product a 7/10 as a busy mum finding the time to do them was a major issue and when I finally managed to find time I found the product a little fiddly and time-consuming, probably because I am no natural! However, I highly recommend the product because they look really good, last a considerable amount of time and the compliments I received really made my day.

Should you wish to try these out for yourselves you’ll find Kerry’s website here or alternatively you can find her on Facebook here.
