In the world of blogging there’s a lot of so called “daily-bloggers”. People (often teenage girls) who only write what’s happened during the day. Maybe they post a picture of today’s outfit once in a while, put mostly it’s just about what they have done during the day.
Well, I guess I’m not the only one who doesn’t like to read those kind of blogs… So today I’ll give some tips about what to write about if your completely out of ideas except from telling your readers what you ate for dinner or how good it was to take a shower.
Start of with something simple, tell your readers WHY you started blogging and maybe which your favorite bloggers are. Everyone gets inspiration from someone else, so why not talk about 10 people that inspire you? Bloggers, teachers, parents or relatives. People you are looking up to, they become interesting to those who are looking up to you as well. Maybe you can do an interview with someone you know will be popular on your blog, maybe another blogger in the same category as your blog, or just someone completely different. It’s always cool to make an interview with someone from another country so search around on blog forums and if you don’t find anyone, why not ask me? A Swedish teenage girl blogging about music.
Next up, make a list about something. 10 thing no one knew about you, 4 things that makes you really angry, or just 5 funny headlines you found in today’s newspaper? People like to read all kinds of lists so this is a “safe-card”. But hey, why not write a list on things to blog about? If you’re ever out of ideas again, you just need to take a look at the list and choose something!
Another great subject to write about is fashion. Everyone loves to get some great fashion inspirations or advices, don’t they? Maybe you went to this big clothes store yesterday, and you bought that gorgeous top. Well, why not make a haul-post? Talk about what other clothes you’re going to wear it with, and show some pictures of outfits containing the top. Just make sure that your pictures are good enough, no one likes a blog with bad pictures.
Since my blog is considered to be a “music blog”, it would be stupid of me not to mention music as a subject to write about. It’s easy, just share a youtube-video of a song you like and talk about why you like it. If you have a favorite artist, why not write something about him or her and then share a song. There’s so much to write about in music, I’m sure you’ll come up with something. But if you’re still out of ideas, why not write a post asking your readers what they want to read about?
Just remember it’s your blog, you decide what to write about and when to do it. If you really can’t come up with anything to write about, then just don’t write that day. Your readers can’t force you to write, so take a blog pause or invite a guest blogger. But don’t just write about what you ate for dinner, make your blog a high-quality blog instead!
