October like every month before it, flew by. In fact, the whole year has flown by. Who can believe that we are now in November the second from last month? Who’d have thought it.

October was a very, very busy month for us. I say busy… it was mainly spent holidaying with both sides of our little family. There’s nothing I love more than being on holiday, but it is so much better with others.

We have so much to be thankful for this month. I know some times have been extremely hard but the majority it has been perfect and I wouldn’t change it for a second.

What we got up to:

The beginning of October saw us making the most of Autumn by taking a gorgeous autumnal walk through Westonbirt Arboretum. Shaniah loved running through the leaves and I took advantage of the scenery and practised taking photos with my new phone.

October Shaniah played in the leaves

Later on in the month we went away to Newquay with Ryan’s side of the family. It was so lovely to go away and catch up with everyone. Shaniah was so happy to spend a week with her best friend! Ryan came first in his fishing match too so the holiday was fun all round.

Towards the end of the month, We went away on holiday with my side of the family. Although it was only a weekend away due to school and work, it was very much needed and we all enjoyed it. Ryan taught Ashley how to make a Dam and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since. Shaniah got to boogie on down at the disco and I was just grateful for a weekend where I didn’t have any worries. I think the lack of internet helped there.

October they built a dam

Favourite meal:

This month my favourite meal that I have produced has to be the Apple and Stilton Pork chops dish. I was an absolute hater of Stilton until I made this dish and it will certainly be created again more often.

October I cooked Stilton covered pork chops on a bed of new potatoes and apple

Favourite moment:

I don’t even need to sit and think about this one. My favourite moment from this month has got to be something that happened when I was away on holiday with Ryan’s family. Kayleigh, Ryan’s brothers Fiance and someone who is the sister I never had grabbed my attention and asked me to go with her. Shaniah and I followed her into her room and sat on the bed. That is when she asked me if it would be okay if Shaniah could be a flower girl for her wedding along with Freya their beautiful daughter. I was overcome with emotion! Of course it was alright. Shaniah was super, excited and hasn’t stopped telling people that she is going to be a flower girl. She handed Shaniah a present and also handed me a present and card too! I was sat there thinking hang on what’s this for? Then I opened the card and it said:

October I was asked to be bridesmaid

OH MY WORD! I could cry! It meant so, so much to me to be such an important part of her big day. I love this couple so, so much and I wish them all the best!

Favourite post

My favourite blog post of this month has got to be our weekend away to Twitchen House. I enjoyed writing about it just as much as I did actually living it. The words just flowed on this post and I think I got a little carried away but hey it’s memories right?

Favourite photo:

My favourite photo this month has got to be this one:

Family in October

I absolutely love this photo of us all. We don’t have many photo’s of the three of us, in fact I think this may only be our second! The surroundings in this photo makes it just that bit more special.

Well that’s it. That’s my favourite things of October.
