Who we are:

The Ferry House is an award-winning country restaurant, situated in the hamlet of Harty on the Isle of Sheppey. Surrounded by nothing but farmland and the waters of the Swale Estuary, this beautiful location might just be Kent’s best-kept secret… Now we want to spread the word.

Our large kitchen garden is the heart of our operation and our ethos. Our AA Rosette award promises quality cuisine, but it’s our values that make us who we are. Fresh, seasonal, home grown produce takes ‘pride of plate’ here. All of our beef and eggs come from our family farm, our game birds are home-reared and roam free range and we forage our bountiful local farm estate and seashore to bring the taste of Kent from plot to plate and field to fork. Our menus and bar champion locally sourced produce and beverages for a culinary showcase that’s fresh, seasonal, sustainable and utterly delicious.

Our 16th century inn is full of ambient charm, with a cosy fire-lit Bar for casual dining, a beautiful Barn Restaurant and private event spaces that host weddings, occasions and corporate events. We also have 11 ensuite B&B rooms, including six individually styled luxury rooms, as well as a further five self-catering cottages (Mocketts Farm Cottages) that can be hired individually or in combination to sleep anywhere between 2-60 guests in hideaway rural bliss.

What is the blogging assignment?

We’re looking for UK bloggers and influencers to come and experience either the Ferry House and/or Mocketts Farm Cottages for yourself in order to independently review your visit and share with your audience and followers. On offer are:

Dining experiences for two
– Lunch, dinner or high tea, subject to agreement & availability

Single night luxury guest rooms stays for two
– Monday-Thursday, subject to agreement & availability

Self-catering cottage stays
– Monday-Thursday for 1-3 nights for up to 6 persons, subject to agreement & availability

– A dining/stay combination, subject to agreement & availability

Payment/sponsorship is in the form of the hospitality package you will receive, and will vary depending on your area of influence, your audience demographic, the size of your following and the coverage we will receive.

What type of blogs are you looking for?

Independent reviews of the Ferry House and/or Mocketts Farm Cottages hospitality.

We are looking for Bloggers & Influencers whose following compliments our customer demographic to come and experience our hospitality offering at either the Ferry House Inn and/or the Mocketts Farm Cottages. You need to be able to travel to our location in Harty, Kent on the days indicated in the ‘Offer’ section covered previously.

We would match well with blogs about food, dining, lifestyle and UK travel, particular those with a heavy Kent/London/Essex/SE following. For more information, see ‘Who we are’ at the start of this document, and our customer demographic, outlined further on.

We are looking for bloggers with the following Domain authority:
Domain authority 0-10 if social following exceeds 5,000
Domain authority 11-25 if social following exceeds 2,500
Domain authority 26-35 if social following exceeds 1,000
Domain authority 36+

As this assignment constituents a fully independent review of our hospitality services, under the CAP Code this is considered a sponsorship-style arrangement as opposed to an advert. As such our preference would be to receive a follow link within the blog, with written clarification within the post that you were invited for a stay/meal in order to review it.

To express your interest, please contact us with details of your blog/social following, your content area (i.e. food, lifestyle, travel…), your audience demographic, your area of geographic influence and your website/blog domain authority, where applicable. We will then work together to determine a suitable hospitality and coverage package.

Dining at the Ferry House Inn:

A high proportion of diners are from Kent within the ME postcode area. With the recent addition of our six luxury rooms and our unique dining proposition, we are positioning ourselves as an exceptional dining/stay experience that warrants further travel – a ‘mini-break’ type dining experience. We are easily accessible from London – about 60 minutes on the train – with excellent road links on to the M2/M20 motorways.

Customers are aged 25+, AB1 with an appreciation of good food and a conscious awareness of the quality, sustainability and ethical principles of using local, seasonal produce. They have a great interest in where the food they are eating has come from and would be interested in touring the kitchen garden. The hideaway location and beautiful country setting equally appeals as part of a ‘feast for the eyes’ dining experience. We’re a great stop-off for walkers/dog walkers (dogs allowed in the bar area) and wildlife/outdoors enthusiasts who are out for the day.

B&B stays at the Ferry House:

We have 11 ensuite bedrooms that range in price from £80-£200 for one night, for two individuals (including breakfast). We consider our individually styled ‘Coach House’ rooms 6-11 as our ‘luxe’ rooms, priced at £150-£200.

Bookings are generally for single or two-three nights and centre around those either looking for a stay over after dining with us at the Ferry House, or those visiting the area on a mini break. As per ‘Dining’, our audience is AB1 25+ and is more geographically spread, clustering around the South East and London, but extending beyond.

People looking to stay with us crave our country quiet and beautiful location. We offer accessible rural bliss for those who want a ‘get away from it all’ type escape with oodles of home comfort, luxurious touches and quality dining. The six Coach House rooms have cots, although they’re not generally the type of rooms that appeal to families, who prefer to stay in the Mocketts Farm Cottages. The Coach House is wheelchair accessible and room 11 is disabled-friendly. People who stay with us with love the surrounding landscape, country walks and visits to nearby sites and heritage towns, including Faversham with the Shepherd Neame Brewery, Canterbury, Rochester and Leeds Castle.

Cottage stays at Mocketts Farm Cottages:

We have four cottages on the Mocketts Farm complex (five from June 2020), that sleep 4-60+, if hiring all properties together.

Our audience is AB1 25+ and clusters around the South East and London, but does extend beyond. People looking to stay here crave our country quiet and beautiful location. We offer accessible rural bliss for those who want a ‘get away from it all’ type escape, with the practicalities and conveniences of home, such as a fully equipped kitchen.

Bookings are generally for 2-7 nights and appeal to families, groups of friends and those celebrating an occasion together as a large group – the cottages are ideal for multi-generational holidays. The ground floor of The Saltings and Marsh View are wheelchair accessible and disabled friendly, while dogs are also welcome.

People who stay with us with love the surrounding landscape, country walks and visits to nearby sites and heritage towns, including Faversham with the Shepherd Neame Brewery, Canterbury, Rochester and Leeds Castle.
