INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR ALL
A week-long celebration of music, dance and culture, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod was established over 70 years ago! The charity-run festival celebrates peace and diversity through performance and is based in the stunning town of Llangollen, with live performances from all over the globe.
Each day (from Monday 1st July – Saturday 6th July) is themed to allow families to explore many corners of the world, from Europe’s rich culture and South America’s latin beats, to traditions from the Asian continent and contemporary and traditional African music. Each evening leading artists from around the world perform on the famous Royal Pavilion stage that was the launch pad for many world-renowned singers including Luciano Pavarotti. This year Jools Holland will be launching the festival, followed by Rolando Villazon, Gipsy Kings and many more. https://international-eisteddfod.co.uk/event_picker/evening-concerts/
Children’s choirs and dance groups will take centre stage on Wednesday 3rd July as the festival’s international competitions start, with the winner of the Children’s Choir of the World being announced the following day.
There will be storytelling from across the globe on Wednesday – Friday ( https://international-eisteddfod.co.uk/events/wednesday-on-the-field/) whilst Saturday is Family Day and will see performers dancing in the streets as well as circus skill workshops, stilt walking, storytelling and magic shows. https://international-eisteddfod.co.uk/events/saturday-on-the-field/
Teachers are also still able to book to attend International Children’s Day themed Earth’s Little Heroes on Tuesday 2nd July. The day features the delivery of the poignant ‘Peace Message’ as well as dance showcases and environmental workshops from The Junkman, Magic of Recycling and Mary Bobbins artists roaming the field along with stilt walkers, jugglers, circus acts and bubble workshops to add to the fun. https://international-eisteddfod.co.uk/events/tuesday-on-the-field/
