Today was my granny’s birthday, so as a little something yummy… I decided to make her a cake!


Ingredients 200g unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for greasing 200g caster sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 4 medium eggs 200g self-raising flour For the filling 100g butter, softened 140g icing sugar, sifted 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 Dessertspoon Milk Strawberry or Raspberry Jam  Sugar paste flowers, icing sugar etc. to decorate Method Pre-heat oven to 200C. Grease 2 x 20cm sandwich tins. Place the butter, sugar and vanilla extract into a bowl and beat well to a creamy consistency. I like to use an electric whisk, but to be honest – A trusty wooden spoon is plenty
